Q. Is there free parking at the downtown library?

Lawson McGhee Library validates for one hour of free parking in the Locust Street Parking Garage.

There are a few metered parallel parking spaces on Church Avenue in front of Lawson McGhee Library and one unmetered space requiring flashers; these have a 30 minute limit. A little to the west on Church, and around the corner on Walnut, are some 2 hour metered spaces.

On Walnut Street between the library and the Walnut Building are two unmetered accessible spaces allowing 2 hours of parking for permitted vehicles.
