Q. Is there a delivery service for homebound people?
Can a shut-in person get library materials at home?
Yes, we call our service Books for the Homebound but it's not just books.
This free service is for adult Knox County residents who are unable to come to the library without assistance due to a permanent or temporary disability and have no one to pick up materials for them.
Materials for the program are books, books on compact disc, music compact discs, and movies.
Patrons in the Books for the Homebound program with a compatible device also have access to our collections of downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, and streaming video.
Every effort will be made to fill your requests. If requested materials are unavailable, selections will be made based on your reading preferences.
Once a month on a regular schedule a volunteer will bring your delivery and pick up your previous month's materials for return to the library.
Please direct all account questions (such as library card, PIN, renewals) to Circulation.
