Q. Is there a quick way to check the library catalog from other websites?

Library Extension is a browser extension available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. As you browse websites for books and e-books, the Library Extension can check both the library's online catalog and OverDrive, and displays the availability of that item on the same page.

The search results won't be as complete as they'd be if you use the catalog directly. You can take a positive search result as a "yes, we have it"; if you don't get a positive search result, check the catalog by searching on title, then try again with an author search. Or just contact us.
