Q. What software and hardware is available on public computers?

Our computers run Windows 11 with the Edge and Chrome web browsers. Apps include:

• Office 2016: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
• Audacity, Gimp, Paint 3D, Paint.net
• VLC media player
• File Explorer, Notepad, Calculator, Magnifier, Narrator, Onscreen Keyboard

We have CD burners you can borrow to use while on the library's public computers; they will read many types of optical disc such as DVDs. Some locations might even have floppy disc drives, believe it or not (Lawson McGhee Library still has one, while it lasts). If you bring other peripherals, they should work if they are plug-and-play through a USB interface.
