Answer

There's a self-service scanner at Lawson McGhee Library optimized for scanning library reference materials, but you can also scan personal documents and photographs. Output your scans to a USB drive, Google Drive, email address (not for personally identifying documents), or to a mobile device via QR code.

File types include:

  • quick PDF or searchable PDF
  • jpeg
  • RTF (editable text)
  • MP3 – scan a text document and output to MP3 to listen to the text read aloud using synthesized text-to-speech

There's better scanning for documents, photos and other media in the Memory Lab. Reservations are required.

In branch libraries with a photocopier, the scan function can be used to store scans to a USB drive. No other output options are provided.

Scanning is free.
