The password keeps your library account secure.

It was called a PIN until 11-14-2022, when we switched to requiring a password at least 8 characters in length. Some partner services may still prompt for a PIN, but you should use your password.

Your password must be at least 8 characters long and may contain letters, numbers or a combination of both. Do not use & in your password, as it will break the OverDrive feature of your account.

Reset your password

Check your email for the reset link; the link in your email can be used only once. If you do not receive the email, check your junk/spam folder; the email comes from ask-a-librarian@knoxlib.org.

If you cannot reset your password that way, it may be because your account is missing a current email address. Please visit your nearest library.

Password changes across other services

  • OverDrive, Kanopy, LinkedIn Learning for Library, and Tutor.com – begin using your library account's new password
  • Remote database access – begin using your new password for any sign-in requesting it
  • Password changes have no effect on accounts registered with a username/password on third-party services such as ILLiad
  • Hoopla – Update your password in the Hoopla app manually. Contact the Sights & Sounds department at (865) 215-8714 for more information.
